LO4: Evaluation of radio show
Feedback From Target Audience /Survey
Once we have created our radio show we asked our intended target audience what they thought of the radio show out of 100 (10) and what could be improved to maker a better radio show. Achieving useful feedback was achieved through selecting my target audience to give us feedback rather than feedback from an unsuitable audience.
From the survey created the feedback suggest that majority of my audience enjoys the show giving it an average of 9/10 . From this I can conclude that our radio show was in fact successfully appeals towards our intended target audience. As well, as some improvement not being suggested or thought of by my audinece.
Feedback from target audience
The questions we asked our audience were questions such as;
What they would rate the promo?- This will allow us to gain overall feedback on what our intended audience think of the radio show and if it is successful or not.
Does It match conventions of a radio show?- This is to allow us to see if our audience feel our radio show includes suitable content and also entertaining towards them.
What they think the target audience is?- We have added this into our survey to get an understanding of if the overall radio show relates and caters to the intended target audience.

· Evaluate the flow of the show – does it meet the original brief, purpose and your planning? Does the content target the audience?
Our radio show successfully meet the brief and requirements suggested as we have created a new and original radio show local community radio station for Sheffield Live!
We have also used the content and convention a radio show should preserve such as;
Presenters/ voice actors- We have featured voice actors and presenters to feature for the radio show as this is something every radio show. Presenting our radio show is Me and Evie. As our script is targeted more towards a female audience, including female presenters would make it much more 'relatable' and suited for its audience. Our presenters will have Yorkshire dialect and casual informal talk/ elaborate coding. Also, our mode of address is peer to peer snd how our listeners would speak towards their friends. This makes the show even more relatable for my target audience. Again, this will make it relatable especially towards our South Yorkshire listeners the listeners form different regions may not understand.
News bulletin -In the begging of our script we have have featured a news bulletin which is presented by Evie. This was required for our radio show and we have achieved this. Evie informs our listeners on the local news around Sheffield as the will be useful and informative news for our listeners specifically towards our audience as they are local and from Sheffield
Feature/ interview/ narrative -
When creating this script we all created parts as a team effort. Hannah wrote the advertisements, Evie wrote the news articles, while Shauna wrote the chatty dialogue. All 3 jingles were wrote by all of us.
Our radio show also includes competitions related and targeted to our audience such as winning ticket. Also, competiotions for over 18s is featured in the show. This will attract more listeners from the ages of 16- 24. We have also feature confession call ins, allowing listeners to ring in with problems, secrets etc. This is the sort of entertainment which is target our audience as it consists of humour and interesting content. This is also followed by a chance to win tramline tickets making more people wanting to call in and share their confessions. Also, song request as most of our songs played are suggestions from our listeners making the radio show even more connected with the audience. This is easily done as our target audience are owners of smartphones/tech. We have made our competitions much more relatable for our target audience as we have featured question from on Sheffield native bands and also giving away £100 worth of vouchers at a Sheffield bar. This is specifically targeted at our listeners age, hobbies and also demographic.
Celebrity gossip is another convention that makes up our radio show and is a very large segment in the radio show. We have featured this as our target audience/ listeners find this interesting and entertaining. The sort of celeb gossip and news we feature are usually related to musicians as our show is based and plays music. A celeb news we featured was the death of Avicii which was then followed with a song of his relating topics with the music presented. Also, celeb gossip with mainstream and trending celebs such as Khloe Kardashian and Cardi B, who are also very well known.
Throughout the show our narrative for our radio show includes music, which is suited for our listeners and related to our jingle as we present the biggest hits and also suggested by them, celeb gossip, competitions and also confessions. We have overall suited the radio for our target audience and to entertain them.

Jingle/ theme music -
The radio show features many jingles through out the show. The jingles used were created towards our target audience as they were clearly presented for a younger female audience as the voice actors were female along with the exciting and upbeat music/sound used. Also, the jingles we used were very short and quick lasting around 4 seconds, which is also a common convention of radio shows. Constant use of Jingles allows our radio show to sort of 'create a brand' for our listeners and for them to be quite familiar with the radio show.

Bedding music/ sound/ effects -
We used sound effects through out our radio show. The sound effect were to match the dialogue and conversations spoken about between the presenters and on the show.
For example when we spoke about ways the audience are able to contact us for competitions we featured a 'ringing' sound effect after presenters stated to call in and a tex notification 'ping' when we spoke about how you can tex/ message the radio show. The songs played on our radio show were popular, trending and chart hit music from rap/hiphop to pop. The music choice has specifically catered towards our audience and ensured it appeals to them as well.
Original advert
As our target audience are young adults the advertisement specifically caters towards them. An example of this would be the University open days advertisement which is featured as our target audience are in the ages of starting university or in university. This is featured as a sponsorship.

Strengths of production and final edit
Strengths of the product as that the product was clearly targeted and catered toward the chosen target audience through the content we used which is entertaining such as the confessions and competitions, which I found appeals towards my target audience. Also, looking at existing radio shows with the same audience this is something I found to also gain listeners in and keep interested. Also, the conversation between the presenters is very casual informal and in a peer to peer mode of address. This is a strengths as it made the radio show much more relatable and suited for our intended target audience. If the presenters were much more formal and included a mode of address such as teacher to pupil/ parent to child it would not be suited. Also, we have featured presenters who have the same accent / slang as our listeners as it is a local radio show.
Looking at the feedback given our radio show was enjoyed by our target audience and was a successful radio show.
Our radio show did not have any improvements suggested from our feedback. Again, this goes to show how it was enjoyed by my target audience. Feedback also shows how our target audience were right with who we aimed our target audience is through the conventions of our radio show being suitable for that age group.
Weakness of production and final edit
Although our radio show was successful we did encounter some weaknesses such as the radio show could also include much more features to entertain the target audience much more.Potential features and content we could add could be adding interview with upcoming musicians as this is something our target audience would be interested and suitable for our radio. This could also be a a local Sheffield upcoming artist.
Another weakness was the recording was interrupted and creating irrelevant and un-intentional audio in our production. This affected our production as it was not professional and did not create our ideal radio show. This could be fixed through recording our radio show in a different location or a much quieter/ suitable one.

Changes or amendments
From the feedback given by our target audience from our draft we have made some changes for our overall and final edit of our radio show.
We also made some changes as we initially planned to use 3 presenters but instead used two for our radio show. This was because we found the radio show to be better suited as looking at existing radio shows too many presenters are not a common feature and a smaller amount of presenters is a much more common convention in radio shows as it also may complicate our radio show

LO4: Producing the radio show
Me and Evie , as the voice actors and presenter recorded the dialogue section in the script. This was achieved in the recording studio as we spoke into a microphone covered by a pop filter, which allows our voices to be clear for the trail while also following the script. Shauna as the director/sound person had used garage to record and control the audio for our radio trail. Also, using music without the need of royalties for our radio trail. As you can see Shauna has also used the sound adjuster to control the outcome of what Me and Evie recorded, while also seeing what is useable and unusable.
Offline edit of our radio show

Evidence of editing radio show

We recorded our radio trail including jingles on the software 'Garage' which is where recorded our sound for our radio show. Transferring this to audition to be edited and created on audition.
In order to transfer our audio trail into audition we needed to import the audio from garage through importing it into Adobe Audition. This was then ready to be edited on a much more suitable software.
Once the radio show was imported to Adobe Audition we included/ added all of our sound material onto the software as a multitrack making it much easier to navigate across and edit/ add material. To ensure our radio show is easy to create, navigate and edit it was reasonable to separate the material created for our radio show this was separated as ' Track 1', 'Track 2' and 'Track 3. this immediately made the editing of our radio show much more neatly organised
The cutting tool was constantly used in our radio show as there was some unusable audio recorded and spaces between conversation. Using this tool has allowed us to remove any unwanted or unnecessary audio and allowing our radio trail to flow and fit the conventions of a radio show. If we did not do this our radio show would have taken up unnecessary time and bore our listeners especially as our ai is to excite, entertain and ensure they are interested throughout the show. To ensure our clip is a clear and consists of radio show elements. Decreasing the volume of the background music was important to allow and ensure our listeners can here the presenters. Although the music is clearly heard, the decrease in volume is to ensure the presenters voices are not over heard by the music. Looking at existing radio shows such as Capital Fm, the music was loud and exciting but however, did not over take the voices/ present, which is also my aim.

Here is another example of how the presenter voice were kept at a higher volume then the music as it should be what the listeners engage towards. If this was not done our radio show wouldn't not have flow/ smooth feel instead it would sound as if there is too much going on .
Again, using Adobe Audition to gather the materials used for our radio show and put it together to flow as a radio show we into outed the material . This was important as it is the reason our radio show flows like a radio show should. if this was not done then our radio show would have not followed the conventions of a radio show and not suitable for our target audience as it would be un interesting and sort of incomplete.
Music used
We added the music that was going to be used as into Adobe Audition. The songs were saved as their title making it easy to know what music to use. The music was then positioned where it was introduced and meant to be on the show. Through following conventions of a radio show it would be unusual to have a harsh pause as we are only presented a part of the song. So instead we created a 'fade' as the outdo of the song. This was achieved through dragging keyframes in the right position or suited part of the song. This was something I found constant in existing radio shows as it caters to their young audiences.
